The Role
We are looking for a Trainee Field Crew Leader based from our Leeds office. In this role, you will supervise and lead a small team on a variety of wastewater and water projects across the UK. You will ensure that all work is conducted safely and in line with company Health & Safety procedures.
As a Trainee Field Crew Leader, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, inspection, and removal of monitoring equipment, ensuring compliance with company standards and work programmes. You will also be responsible for maintaining company assets, including vehicles, tools, safety equipment, and monitoring equipment, and ensuring proper scanning is undertaken.
Typical Day of a Trainee Field Crew Leader
Your typical day will involve overseeing and supporting your team (working in teams of three) in safely setting up at various sites. You will ensure that all aspects of the work—whether it’s inspections, installations, or equipment removals—are completed to the required quality. This will also involve lifting and carrying equipment from the vehicle to the work site, which may include confined spaces (via a manhole entry) or river environments.
Additionally, you will supervise the use of company assets and ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with company procedures.

- Previous experience acting as a Team Leader providing cover on-site is advantageous.
- A full, clean manual driving licence is required.
- Strong planning, organisational, and team-leading skills.
- Ability to work well within a team and lead a variety of people.
- You must reside within 30 miles of our Leeds office.
